Howard and Virginia Trawick have a Golden Ticket Adventure!
As the only Racing Sim Centre and Simulator Builder from Western Canada who attended the inaugural SimRacing Expo Charlotte 2026, held from May 22–24, 2026, at the Charlotte Convention Center; we were proud to represent our community and all of you! The event marked the first North American edition of the world's largest sim racing exhibition and brought together thousands of sim racers, hardware manufacturers, sim builders, sim centre owners, developers, content creators, motorsports representatives and industry business leaders. We decided before attending to get Golden Tickets which included a number of benefits that I will go into later.
A Weekend of Innovation
For the TracksVR team, the expo provided a valuable opportunity to connect with manufacturers, industry professionals, and fellow enthusiasts while evaluating emerging technologies that could enhance future racing experiences in Calgary. TracksVR is known for offering immersive racing experiences, group events, and building world class simulators for at home or commercial use; making the expo a natural fit for the company's focus on accessible, high-quality sim racing.
We connected and networked with as well as experienced cutting-edge sim racing technology from major industry brands like those above,
and explored exciting developments in hardware, software, and immersive racing experiences. The event showcased everything from professional-grade simulator rigs and motion platforms to next-generation VR and racing peripherals.
We got to explore the latest innovations in racing simulation, virtual reality, LED and projector screens, motion systems,
direct-drive technology, pedals, and esports experiences. The expo featured more than 30 exhibitors and attracted nearly 9,000 visitors during its debut U.S. event.
Why the Expo Matters
The arrival of SimRacing Expo in North America highlights the continued growth of sim racing worldwide. Originally founded in Germany, the event has become a major gathering point for the global sim racing
community and serves as a platform for new product launches, hands-on demonstrations, and industry networking.
With Charlotte's deep motorsport roots—including NASCAR teams, racing facilities, and the nearby NASCAR Hall of Fame—the city provided an ideal location for the expo's U.S. debut.
Highlights
We were excited to try some new innovations to our industry
including:
- BDH’s new Active Shifter, the prototype motion
system from RaceMotion with a huge screen from LED Studios – really a star of
the show!
- SR-P Pneumatic Pedals and Handbrakes – fully customizable and stunning really.
- Driven DynamiX x Simucube partnership – Alex and team have created something very special with their six-actuator motion rig and active belt system with premium Simucube Ulitmate 3 wheelbase and ActivePedals.
- Vero Motion – 6 DOF system including slip table and actuators, and the realistic
Rival G tensioners. Fantastic new stuff!
- Moza’s highly anticipated motion platform – while a cool start, we think it has a way to go before it’s ready for mass release.
- DOF Reality H4 – a more immersive (heave)
upgrade on their H3 platform.
- Sensit Haptic Seats – perfect for those who want a bit of force feedback, and not committing to the full motion experience.
- Heusinkveld – New button box exemplifying the
pinnacle of quality they are known for. Also new commercial pedals specifically
made for sim centers (robust, adjustable, and commercial warranty available).
And of course – connecting with our industry partners
including Marc-Andre from Advanced SimRacing, Igor from DOF Reality and all the
members from across North America of our Sim Center Alliance Group – thanks
John from Apex Racing for a fantastic get together!
There were some very informative keynote speakers, including one from Andre Eriksen, the CEO of Asetek Racing who filled us in on their new developments and where the future for them is going after the takeover by CQXA Holdings. He affirmed their commitment to expanding their product lines and continuing to look for opportunities to build on what they do best, building
the best and most affordable peripherals.
Golden Ticket Experience!
Along with three days of experiencing all things sim racing, the Golden Ticket included discounts from Sensit, BDH, iRacing and other industry partners, a Fanatec hat, a Sim Racing Expo backpack along with these cool new sim racing sneakers from Asetek.
Also included were tickets to the NASCAR Hall of Fame next door, which we visited with our good friend and industry legend Adrian from Sim Racing Limited (thank you for climbing the angle at the HOF) along with tickets to Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Raceway. Make sure you have hearing protection for a NASCAR race because when the cars get the green flag, the wall of sound begins. What a super cool experience for any race fan!
Looking Ahead
TracksVR's visit to Sim Racing Expo Charlotte 2026 reflects our brand’s commitment to staying at the forefront of sim racing technology. By engaging directly with industry leaders and testing the latest innovations, the team continues to bring new ideas and experiences back to the local racing community. And as we continue to build key relationships with industry leaders, we know we can continue to provide you with the simulator that works best for you.
As sim racing continues to grow, events like Sim Racing Expo Charlotte demonstrate how virtual motorsport is becoming an increasingly important part of the broader motorsports racing ecosystem.
We're excited about what's next and look forward to sharing future developments and new partnerships with our community!
